The family organization of a Father and Mother is eternal!

October 13, 2008

This blog is a summary as to why I support proposition 8 currently on the ballot in California. If you are not familiar with this proposition, I’ll summarize it with the following explanation. It is an amendment to the California Constitution to clarify marriage as legal only between a man and a woman.

The first and driving reason I support this amendment is due to the truth I have learned while growing up with the knowledge that I am a child of a loving Heavenly Father who sent me to this earth to gain a body, and learn to be like him. The most essential part of this plan is being a member of a family with a mother and father to teach me his truths.

After some pondering on the preceding truth, I came to the following conclusion. If I sit by and let a few people change the definition/organization of the most basic divinely appointed unit, what else will I let slide? How will gay marriage affect me, and my future children. What other changes will those who enacted this betrayal of the people’s will seek next.

I will provide as many references to other articles that support my pro-prop8 position as possible. Ultimately, this position is supported by the one who created us all. No man’s opinion can change the truth of the matter.

Massachusetts Family Denied by School When They Requested Parental Notification of Gay Marriage Teaching

October 13, 2008

The Parker family’s 5 year old child came home from school with a book on “diversity” that featured a gay couple as a representation of a normal family. They were simply asking the school to notify them so they could opt their children out of learn about gay marriage. The school’s response was to tell them the didn’t need to notify them. Watch the video to see what we are up against.

Ours is a Government by Majority, not Judicial Tyranny.

October 13, 2008

Another strong argument for passing prop 8 is to send a message to the judges who abused their power to invalidate the will of 61% of Californians. This is an issue should not be overlooked. Our constitution was set-up with a three branch system to provide the checks and balances necessary to avoid any one branch amassing too much influence over the system. The judicial branch does not have the power of the legislative. If judges who continue this trend are not chastened by the people they will continue to use this method for “writing law” that was neither intended by the original authors of our constitution nor approved by the citizens of the state. This is an issue that affects you no matter your stand on prop 8. It must not go in our state or federal level.
